Since 2001 Classic Canadian Homestay has been placing students with Metro Vancouver host families. We work with an experienced and trusted international network of schools and partners to bring short-term international students to the Tri-Cities area (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody) for tourism and English language learning experiences.
The demand for homestay families has never been higher and we have many students looking for caring and interactive host families in the Tri-Cities region. We focus on short-term student groups year round. If your family home is located in Vancouver and is thinking of hosting short-term international students then we can help answer any questions you may have. If your family qualifies we have students waiting for placements in Tri-Cities area homes for many times within the year.
Most of the students that come to Vancouver are high-school age and here for periods lasting a few days or a few weeks. Our students originate primarily from Japan. They range in age from 12-21, depending on the group or school that they travel with. Many students end up making life-long relationships with their host families. International student placements are also a great way to expose your own children to other cultures.

Tri-Cities – An Ideal Homestay Location
There is great demand in the Tri-Cities region for homestay families looking for international students for short-term program placements. Tri-Cities is an ideal location for international students because of it’s prime location within Metro Vancouver, abundance of residential housing, easy access to public transportation, and multiple school choices (School District 43).
The Tri-Cities are comprised of three adjacent suburban cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam. Port Moody) and two villages (Belcarra and Anmore) within the north-east regions of Vancouver.
There are many features that make the Tri-Cities region so appealing for international homestay students. There is a variety of public rec. centre facilities, art centres, sports complexes, fields, ball parks, golf courses, movie theatre complexes, shopping centres, museums, art galleries, and live performance theatres.
The Tri-Cities is blessed with lots of natural areas and green space with over 80 municipal parks and natural areas. The largest of these spaces is Mundy Park located in the centre of the city and Ridge Park located in the highlands near the city’s northern edge.
The Tri-Cities is well serviced by public transportation including bus service, SkyTrain and the Evergreen line which is scheduled for completion in 2017. These transportation options allow easy access to all of Metro Vancouver. For many international students this is a major benefit of the Tri-Cities region.
